URGENT PROPOSAL
FOR FOOD FOR COVID-RELATED HUNGER

Hi Friend,
Greetings in Jesus' blessed Name. My wife Deepu and I thank God for being able to speak to you this way. In fact, we are deeply saddened with the fact that India now has the fastest-growing coronavirus caseload of any country in the world, reporting 300,000 new infections per day. The total number of new infections the last week alone has reached ONE MILLION. Health experts say the number could be much more than what's reported.
According to New York Times on 15 Jan 2021, Crowded Cities, Lockdown Fatigue, and a lack of Contact Tracing have spread Covid-19 every corner of India, a country of 1.3 billion people. Now one out of every 6 Covid infections in the world is found in India.
Sadly, the virus reproduction rate is ticking up as more state governments, desperate to stimulate an ailing economy, are loosening lockdown restrictions, which is causing new infections beyond imagination. India has inched toward the No.1 spot globally.
WHAT'S HAPPENNING IN INDIA:
During the strict lockdown that held from late March to late May 2020, most of India’s Covid-19 cases were concentrated in urban areas. But as restrictions on interstate travel were eased, many people started moving from the cities to rural areas, bringing the virus with them.
Public hospitals have been so overwhelmed that doctors have had to treat patients in the hallways. In some cases, people who are conspicuously poor, in critical condition have no place to get help.
"It's better to get the virus than to stay hungry inside." is the heart cry of every poor and starving Indian.
Rich people have no problem getting food and have their needs met because they have money. But for the families who live from hand to mouth, the situation is bad to the bone which makes them prefer virus to hunger as they are in desperate need of food and other basic things.
One poor woman in Delhi area, who was going into labor was turned away from eight hospitals in 15 hours because she didn't afford the fee increased due to Pandemic. She died in the back of an ambulance, in her husband's hands.
TERRIBLE DISASTER AHEAD...
India has reported more than 14 million total cases so far, and its day-to-day increase is now significantly higher than that of either the United States or Brazil, which have reported between 40,000 to 50,000 new infections per day in recent days.
In India, if the poor families, that have already been starving, are not provided with food and other basic needs, their hunger will drive them out of their homes which will soon lead to an unimaginable explosion of new infections. It's been reported that the 4 weeks ahead are very "critical" for the nation and if we fail to help the people stay indoors, experts are warning that unthinkable can happen to India.
WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE QUICKLY:
This is the time every poor family is terribly suffering for want of food and other basic supplies as they lost their works due to Covid. People are afraid of employing and being employed. People who live on daily wages are suffering a great deal and their wretchedness is indescribable. They see no hope in the foreseeable future. Parents are heart broken to see their children starving.
Many deaths are already taking place due to starvation and the number is supposed increase drastically in the very near future. Some projections show that very soon Covid-19 will cause more people to die each day from hunger than from the virus infections.
It's greatly feared that Covid-related hunger could kill more people than the virus.
We can save many poor and needy people from both the virus and starvation by keeping them indoors by providing them with food and other basic needs. As the next 4 weeks are very crucial in controlling the spread, we want to provide poor families with food that will last for one month at least. If these 4 weeks people are careful, experts say, they are almost out of danger.
During the first wave, the Lord enabled us to help hundreds of poor families to feed for two months because of which they were able to stay indoors and most of them have never been infected. At the moment we are praying about helping 2000 poor and needy families in the town of Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, one of the worst-hit cities.

The good news is that it's possible for you to stop the spread of this terrible virus in India. It's possible by keeping the people indoors by providing them food for 1 month in this most critical time.
We pray and believe the Lord is going to touch the hearts of the people who are going to read this request. We earnestly request you to do whatever is possible for you. We would like to give you an example below to make calculations easier for you.

EARNEST REQUEST:
The need is massive and it is urgent. Our Lord has placed this enormous burden on my wife Deepu's heart and on mine. Therefore, we earnestly request you to respond as soon as possible and also spread the news about this. We can't wait to hear from you.
Another wonderful thing is that it gives us a golden opportunity to show the love of God to these idol worshippers practically. We give them food but it will not end there. As they will taste the love of God through our love and care, it paves a great way to win their hearts for Christ. With the food, we also invite them to accept the Lord Jesus as their personal Saviour and the Lord as their souls are far more precious than their bodies.
The need is so great and urgent that any amount of help straightaway would be a great assistance.
